Swiss Fund — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Swiss Fund has no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It keeps your budget on your device.

The short list of what does leave your phone — exchange-rate and price lookups, and the purchase check for Swiss Fund Pro — is below, in full.

What stays on your device

Your incomes, expenses, categories, vault, and net-worth snapshots are stored only in the app's own storage and in an App Group shared with the Swiss Fund widget and the Apple Watch app, so they can show the same numbers. Your data stays on your iPhone, plus — if you leave iCloud Backup on — a copy in your own iCloud. Nothing is sent to us.

iCloud backup

Swiss Fund can keep a backup copy of your data in your own iCloud account, in a private container that only Swiss Fund can read. This is on by default and can be turned off in Settings → Data.

The backup contains everything you enter in the app — budget, categories, income, expenses, history, vault and portfolio — and is written a few seconds after each change. It goes to Apple's iCloud servers under your Apple ID, protected by your iCloud credentials; we never see it, never receive it, and have no server of our own.

Deleting the app does not delete the backup — turn iCloud Backup off in Settings, or remove "Swiss Fund" under iPhone Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage. "Restore from iCloud" replaces the data on the current iPhone with that backup.

If you add your own API key for optional extra market data (Finnhub or Alpha Vantage, see below), that key is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.

Deleting the app deletes all of it, unless you used the in-app JSON backup/export first — that exported file is yours to keep wherever you save it.

What leaves your device

Exchange rates — api.frankfurter.app, api.frankfurter.dev, and api.exchangerate-api.com. The app requests current currency rates so it can convert between currencies. Nothing that identifies you is sent with these requests.

Stock and crypto prices & search — query2.finance.yahoo.com and api.coingecko.com. The app requests price data for the ticker or coin you're tracking.

Optional extra market data — finnhub.io and alphavantage.co, but only if you paste your own API key for one of them into Settings. Nothing is sent to either unless you set that up yourself.

Company logos — financialmodelingprep.com, sent the ticker symbol only, to show a holding's logo.

Purchases — Swiss Fund Pro. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. To check whether Pro is unlocked, the app uses the RevenueCat SDK, which receives a random anonymous app-user ID generated on your phone and your App Store receipt data — no name or email. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

That is the complete list. No analytics SDK, no ad network, no fingerprinting, no third-party tracking of any kind.

Optional device features

Local notifications (daily reminders), Siri & Shortcuts, widgets, Control Center controls, and the Apple Watch app are all optional, and all run entirely on your device — none of them send your budget data anywhere.

Children

Swiss Fund is not directed at children under 13. It has no accounts and asks nothing about you.

Your rights

We do not sell your data, to anyone, ever.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top.
